Bristol Owners’ Club
The Challenge
Initially, the client had an old website that had vast amounts of data about just about every Bristol car ever manufactured, along with details of owners, registration marks, paint colours and more. The site also had a record of all the club’s members. This old site (and its data) had been moved to a new website, but the BOC committee wasn’t happy with the result. They recognised that the standard content management system that it had been built on lacked customisation, and they felt that a more bespoke product was needed. The team went looking for a new solution. They wanted a new website with all the data from the previous two sites merged onto it.
Over and above this, the payment system for member subscriptions was being handled by two payment providers, which led to unnecessary administrative work being done to manage subscriptions.
ADOPSTAR'S RESPONSE
The BOC team had heard of Adopstar’s web design prowess from the son of one of their committee members, who had worked with us in a different capacity. They explained their situation and we were able to build a new website that had all the functionality they wanted.
One of their key requirements was that their members should have an easy way to look up different cars in the database to see each vehicle’s history. The site also needed to be user-friendly, as the committee members would be keeping the records up to date using a change log.
We managed to meet both of these requirements in a slick solution that also included other features like a newsletter integration that made communication with their members as smooth as a Sunday drive.
We also helped the BOC team to migrate all their payment handling to one provider, hence reducing the administrative overhead.

Using the existing data, we created a web platform that enables the BOC team to give these remarkable cars the recognition that they deserve. Looking to the future, we will provide ongoing support. The team has some great new features in the pipeline and we will work closely with them to bring these features to fruition.
