The Challenge
Adopstar is well known as a company that engages with its community by raising funds for worthy causes, as well as maintaining and upgrading sports facilities wherever possible. We wanted to harness our website-building and marketing capabilities to make a difference for businesses in small towns in England’s southwest while also providing a much-needed resource for locals to find the service provider that they need.
We’re passionate about communities and supporting local businesses. By using our expertise to create community directories (both physical and online), we’re giving businesses an opportunity to share their message within local communities.
ADOPSTAR'S RESPONSE
Our pilot project was the Cullompton directory. Starting close to home, we compiled some information about our town, its history and everything that it has to offer residents and visitors. We then approached local businesses and invited them to get involved in the project. A variety of local service providers, including beauticians, construction companies, business consultancies, schools and entertainment venues — to name just a few — are now promoting their products and services through our guide.
Since the completion of that project, we have been rolling the concept out into other communities in and around Devon.
the result
Residents of Cullompton, Tiverton, Bude, Honiton, Wellington, Okehampton and Holsworthy now have a list of local service providers at their fingertips — and local businesses have gained a new platform to promote themselves and their offerings. Over and above this, visitors to these areas have quick and easy access to everything they need to know to enjoy their time here. The Adopstar team has successfully put its expertise to work for local businesses and communities.
