The Challenge

Made in Devon approached Adopstar wanting to run a seasonal campaign over the summer holidays. They wanted this campaign to increase brand awareness, get more members and drive traffic to their website — which in turn would lead to increased click-throughs to their members’ websites. At the same time, they wanted to increase their Facebook and Instagram followers and get more businesses interested in joining the scheme.

ADOPSTAR'S RESPONSE

Our digital marketing team sat down for a brainstorming session. Our first task was to define Made in Devon’s target audience to ensure that the concepts and copy we developed would resonate effectively. Our defined target audience included people interested in things to do in Devon, Devon residents and people interested in Devon gifts — among various others. With the target market defined, we chose three themes and ran three strategically targeted adverts for each theme.

The themes were:
1. Specific summer jobs in Devon (things that people in Devon
would need to do during summer)
2. Things to do in Devon
3. Locally created goods to buy in Devon

The first advert under every theme was intended to grow Made in Devon’s Facebook presence. The second was targeted to increase Instagram followers and the third was to encourage browsers to click through to the relevant landing page on the Made in Devon website.

the result

We are extremely proud of the results of this campaign, which led to notable improvements in key performance metrics across their social media accounts. Clicks to their Instagram account and their Insta reach grew exponentially, indicating far wider audience engagement. We also saw a remarkable increase in Facebook link clicks and link impressions. As a result of the campaign, Made in Devon got 508 new Facebook page likes, growing the page from 1,361 likes to 1,869.

The brand’s increase in reach, engagement, link clicks, page likes and followers is proof of the positive impact of our campaign. We are proud to have helped Made in Devon spread the word about the great work they are doing in our county. As their follower count grows, their organic reach will naturally expand, enabling the business to reach a broader audience
