Adopstar’s Managing Director Theresa Benson bags award
Adopstar is extremely proud to announce that our Managing Director, Theresa Benson, recently won the Employer of the Year category at the Devon Women in Business Awards. There’s never been any doubt among our team that Theresa is worthy of this accolade and having her accomplishments recognised by an external party is a great way to round off a successful year.
In order to be considered for the award, we were required to provide information about Theresa, her management style and the techniques she uses to motivate her team. The judges also wanted to know about Adopstar’s business goals, our plans for the future and our involvement in charitable endeavours.
Theresa’s management style enables staff members to thrive, regardless of their background or personality type. This award serves as recognition of her fair and kind approach to staff management and her commitment to making the office a fun place to be.
As a whole, Adopstar is growing from strength to strength, which put Theresa in the running for this award. 2022 has seen us launch our new Dev Ops division, which develops bespoke full-stack software solutions. This complements the service offering of our Media Ops division which was launched in 2021, offering everything from marketing strategies and advertising campaigns to Google ads, SEO and website design.
Another factor which made Theresa “Employer of the Year” in the eyes of the Devon Women in Business Awards judges is her commitment to charities and to creating opportunities for young people in Devon. Adopstar continues to raise funds in every way imaginable for our chosen charity, which is Young Lives VS Cancer. We are also committed to helping young people in the area make the most of the benefits of sport. During 2022, we have become the title sponsor of the Cullompton Rangers Football Club. We have also signed on as the chief sponsor for Christ Tshiunza, an up-and-coming football player from the premiership club Exeter Chiefs and Wales International.
In a nutshell, this award recognises Theresa’s compassion, business acumen and other-person-centred approach to life. As a company, we are extremely proud of how far we have come under Theresa’s leadership and that of her husband and our founder, Paul Benson. We look forward to achieving more, giving more and growing more in 2023.
